Congress MP KC Venugopal asked the center whether it had a count of how many COVID-19 patients died on the highways and in hospitals owing to a severe lack of oxygen, in the second wave. Minister of State for Health Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar informed the Rajya Sabha that no deaths owing to a lack of oxygen had been expressly recorded by states/Union territories. According to the center, health is a state issue, and the states have not given the center any such information. However, due to the interference of the apex court, the center has now submitted a report and asked the states to form an oxygen task force. Stay tuned for more updates
