2021 C3 Awards - Outstanding City Employee Award

For the first time, the City of Collinsville is giving an Outstanding City Employee Award. This award recognizes a City employee for exemplary performance and contributions that go above and beyond job requirements.

Nominations were made by fellow employees based on superior performance and/or contributions involving activities such as: internal or external customer service, cost savings, productivity/work processes, or outstanding citizenship.

Award Winner: Jamie Lane - Gateway Center

Jamie Lane, Asst. General Manager and Business Development Director for the Gateway Convention Center (GCC) was selected as the City of Collinsville’s Outstanding City Employee award winner for 2021 due to her commitment, passion, and drive for the success of the GCC. An employee at the GCC since 2000, Jamie has been responsible for some of the largest revenue producing events at the facility including the “Let’s Go Fishing Show” (GCC’s largest and most profitable event of the year). Jamie really stepped up and filled a leadership void during one of the most challenging times for the hospitality industry – COVID 19 global pandemic. As GCC went through a transition of leadership Jamie’s direction provided the opportunity to function as the first mass vaccination site for COVID 19 in the entire St. Louis Region, as well as the ability to host events safely during a very trying time. Her efforts resulted in the first profitable period at the facility in some twenty years. Jamie also provided a team-based environment that allowed staff to pursue new business efforts all while charting a new business path and bright future for the facility.
