The India League was founded in 1928 to further the hopes and aspirations of global Indians. One of the esteemed members Krishna Pujara discusses the humble beginnings of the organisation, their goals and vision going forward.
Krishna is the CEO at Enfield Saheli, shehas worked within and helped develop statutory and voluntary sector organisations in the UK, with a special interest in supporting Health & Social Care.
At present Krishna is a front runner in developing services to empower women nationwide as the Chief Executive of Enfield Saheli. The organisation aims to enable women to participate fully in the social, cultural and civic life. They are a service-oriented charity providing support to improve the health and well-being of women and their families in UK. The organisation offers Advice, Information, Training, Advocacy & Counselling on a range of issues.
Krishna’s impressive track record of success in promoting the concerns of women regarding Domestic Violence, Forced Marriages, Trafficking and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in the UK and over the world speaks volumes about her dedication and commitment to the communities.
Through her work, Krishna has become an active ambassador and voice of the Communities
Krishna has served in various positions in the past as the Chairperson of Women’s Aid, President of London Host Lions Club International, and General Secretary of the Brent Indian Association.
In recognition of all of her work and services to the community, she has been awarded by the various different bodies over the years.
