If your goal during chest workouts is variety for the sake of variety - or if it's not necessarily your aim to build chest muscle to 100% of your potential - then that's fine. But if you want to build a bigger chest as effectively as possible, there's no good reason to do your dumbbell press in an alternating fashion. This chest exercise might look cool and interesting, but it has no chest building advantage and just creates unnecessary fatigue in the opposite "resting" side while forcing you to divert focus onto balancing the weight. When it comes to your pec workouts, just perform a regular chest press with both arms at the same time.
