Countries around the world have purchased a total of about 3.5 billion doses of the Pfizer vaccine, making it the world's leading shot. The Vatican has said that it is morally acceptable for Catholics to receive the Pfizer vaccine, but some concerns remain about its development. A widely shared Project Veritas video appears to show internal company emails showing Pfizer's hesitancy to share information about the role of fetal cell lines in vaccine development. President of the National Catholic Bioethics Center, Joseph Meaney, joins to share what we know about this. Pfizer says they previously disclosed the fetal cell line testing, and this was considered when the National Catholic Bioethics Center recommended that Catholics could take the vaccine in good conscience. Meaney discusses whether the Project Veritas video impacts his original assessment. Using aborted babies for research is a big factor behind vaccine hesitancy, Meaney tells us whether he thinks the concern of the public might push pharmaceutical companies to pursue more pro-life research in the future. The president of the National Catholic Bioethics Center will be protesting the University of Pittsburgh's federally funded aborted tissue bank. He explains what the university is doing and why this research in particular has caught his attention.
