Volcano Kilauea woke up in Hawaii, the US Geological Survey reports.
The footage from the scene shows clouds of white clouds rising above the crater. At the same time, lava remains within its limits. "The eruption of Mount Kilauea is in full swing. What was a cooled lake of lava has now become a new fissure eruption!" - stated on the USGS Volcanoes Twitter page. It also clarifies that the eruption takes place in the Halemaumau crater.
Kilauea woke up in December 2020, as well as in early May 2018. Then the eruption turned out to be especially powerful and lasted for several months.
