Outdoor cooking I believe is very natural to all of us. We have done it for thousands of years and only with the very recent luxury of electricity, coal & gas has our cooking change it the last few hundred years. Cooking and eating also bring us together for the preparations, cooking, and eating. The fire, smoke, and outdoor sounds with the chill as dusk sets in bringing us closer together around the warmth of the fire where we share our delights in breaking our fast. Covid-19 has New Zealand once again at level 4 lockdown. We try to limit our trips to the shops as much as possible. There are still some items we need like cream, butter & household items like cleaners and personal toiletries etc.
By growing our own vegetables and poultry we can feed ourselves. Rabbit & hare are wild on the farm and they are a valuable protein source to hunt while we are in lockdown and not allowed to hunt off our property.
