Half of the youngsters that were raised in this area have now fledged- flown for the first time. It's been 4 days since there was a lot of wind so when it started to get really windy during the night it was time for the young Albatross to practice! These birds love the wind -with that 11ft. wingspan they actually sail on the wind. Hovering is the last practice stage before actual flight. If the wind keeps up some of the remaining Albies will be off today!
