Many people in India misuse the word ' duplicate' , not knowing its actual meaning. Duplicate is not the same as fake.
It is another original or an exact copy of the original. We have duplicate keys, documents in duplicate, triplicate etc.
The negative connotation given to duplicate has its origin in the black market .
