What does a business owner do? The truth is that the roles of a business owner changes with every shift that happens in your business. When it grows and evolves, your role grows and evolves along with it. Abhay Schweitzer owns a design firm called Techne, which focuses on architectural design and development projects. In Abhay’s business, many things have evolved, which have challenged him to develop as a leader to adapt to them.



He first knew that he had to treat his business like an actual business when he hired his first employee. After that, he began to prioritize the responsibilities that he enjoyed less and delegate them to employees. That enabled him to transform his job and optimize it - taking on the roles of a business owner, as he transitions from employee to being the LEADER.



So, what does a business owner do? Part of business owner responsibilities is knowing which aspects need your attention and which ones can be delegated. After hiring the right talent and filling each role in your company with competent people, you also need to make sure that your company has systems and tools to be able to run without being overly reliant on you.
