Our production "FAR... WITHIN" is a dance film by Laksha Dantran. The film takes the perspective of a transwoman who has a great dream: she sees the journey of creation, human life, and society. Her dream takes her to the Big Bang, to the first living organisms, and finally to the first primitive human beings.
The dreamer watches as humans build their society and enter disputes over territory, faith, politics, and, in the process, destroy our natural surroundings. As a trans woman, she sees that we have become removed from nature - our essential beings - and makes a connection to her own gender identity...this is her truth and nature.
Amid social distancing and the COVID pandemic, she urges all to reflect and take steps. We have a role to return to our nature: we must take care of our Earth and one another.
